A major advantage is that I can sync my viewing progress across multiple platforms for the video collection I’ve built up over the years. For many TV series, I can’t be bothered to set them up on my TV or projector; now, I can just watch them comfortably on my phone or tablet while lying down. There are two downsides, however: it doesn’t support full-disc (Blu-ray/DVD) rips, and SRT subtitles appear with a semi-transparent black background.

It works really well. After organizing my movies with TinyMediaManager and using an XBMC-compatible agent plugin, everything imports seamlessly. Plex handles the transcoding and directory indexing, and the performance is very smooth.

The overall user experience is quite good, and the interface aligns well with my habits. The only real drawback is the "scraper"—it doesn't perform very well when searching for music metadata.
