Pros and Cons

Pros

Favorites: This new feature allows you to save your favorite words for later use. You can quickly access the Favorites page by swiping left or right from the Favorites menu or the main search results page.

Offline Operation: We were very satisfied with Merriam-Webster's offline functionality when we were out and about. Say goodbye to the hassle of finding a Wi-Fi connection; we can continue working directly.

Cons

Limited Features: We found that Merriam-Webster's features are somewhat limited compared to similar dictionaries. Its results are limited to basic word definitions and a few synonyms, completely lacking information such as idioms and regional variations.

Upgrade Pitfall: In the free version we tested, the only benefit of the paid upgrade was the removal of the ads at the bottom of the screen. However, even with the ads, the app still works normally.

Conclusion

Merriam-Webster works well both online and offline, but the developers have limited the diversity of search results and the number of available features to minimize local data storage. In conclusion, we recommend this dictionary if you work in an area where internet connectivity may be problematic; otherwise, we suggest you consider a more feature-rich dictionary application.
